How can an external hard disk be made hidden or invisible?

I have an external hard disk connected to my pc. It remains connected with my pc all the time. Is there any way in which an external hard disk be made invisible or hidden for other users? (I don’t want to disconnect it again and again or switch off power button). Please give me guidelines step by step.
I’ve tried many softwares to hide my hard disk but after restarting the PC it becomes visible again. So please help.

i don’t think it is possible to keep it hidden per say, but is is relatively easy to restrict access to that hard drive based on user-id. If you disable “simple file sharing”, you will have access to the “security” tab. You can restrict access to that hard drive there. people will still see it, but they will get an Access Denied error.

keep in mind, this requires you to have an individual login that is different than everybody else.
